Kindness Kitchen

Families need you now more than ever!

Dear friends,

The dictionary defines crisis as “a time of intense difficulty.” At the Ronald McDonald House we work to lighten the burden of pediatric families in crisis. Families are provided with a place to sleep, a hot shower, laundry facilities and most importantly, hot meals. Earlier this week, I was reminded of the significance of help during a crisis when my husband experienced emergency surgery. Through the worry, through the hours of waiting, a hot meal was the last thing on my mind. However, when we came home from the hospital, a hot meal was beautifully displayed on our kitchen counter. A friend came to our rescue and provided a home cooked meal to sustain our tired hearts. Families staying at the Ronald McDonald House have always told us that meals are the most important gift that we can provide. Now I understand why. At a time when our meal program has been canceled due to COVID-19, meals for our families are needed more than ever. I urge you to consider a financial gift to our meal program. The importance of your gift runs deep for families in crisis and your kindness is beyond measure. God Bless you.

Jen Veatch

CEO, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana

If you are looking for a way to be a blessing to others during this crisis, here are ways you can help:

• Make a monetary donation to help us provide hot meals during this time. Our current need is $7,500 so we can continue feeding families during the COVID crisis.

• Coordinate a catered meal to be delivered to our families. Meals must be prepared by a restaurant or facility with a commercial catering license. This option must be scheduled ahead of time with Gretchen Spires, House Operations Manager, at (260) 266-3598 or gretchen.spires@parkview.com.
