Offering families comfort, convenience and compassion
When a child is hospitalized, little else matters to a family. Being with their child, helping them get better, going home, that’s their mantra. The Ronald McDonald House exists to provide families with the support, comfort and convenience they need. A rested and well fed parent is better able to care for their sick child. Patients feel more supported when their parents are close. Families stay stronger when siblings can visit and share a meal, a board game or cuddle time with parents they are missing. For all those moments and more, the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview is a home-away-from-home for pediatric families. Located inside Parkview Regional Medical Center, we are a short walk from Pediatrics, Newborn Intensive Care and Pediatric Intensive Care. We welcome the families of pediatric patients 21 and younger either as overnight guests or day guests. At the RMH, families have several areas to relax including our large gathering room. Families are welcome to use our kitchen or enjoy snacks and meals offered by the House. Laundry and shower facilities are available to all guests. We have 15 private guest rooms with semiprivate bathrooms available to overnight guests 24 hours a day.
Ask your doctor or nurse to send a referral to the Ronald McDonald House. Guest rooms are assigned to families based on need. Several factors are considered when assigning guest rooms: the condition of the patient, the location of the family home, and transportation issues. If a room is unavailable, families may use the RMH as a Day Guest. Day guests are welcome to enjoy the amenities of the RMH (kitchen, snacks, common areas, showers and laundry) during our open hours.
