18 Apr My Why – Tara Burge
Tara volunteers at Ronald McDonald House every other Wednesday 3-6pm. She works full time as the Director of Therapy Services at Parkview Randalia, though she often travels to many Parkview campuses. She is commonly asked to help prepare dinner, and she does so with a smile. Tara is one of a few Ronald McDonald House volunteers who doubles as a Parkview employee, and we are so thankful to have her here.
Unfortunately I have known about the amazing services Ronald McDonald House provides since I was five years old. My cousin and best friend Stefanie was treated at Riley Hospital for a neuroblastoma at the age of four. Her parents and older sister were blessed to spend time in the Ronald McDonald house at Riley while Stefanie received treatment. At the age of five I of course thought it was a huge awesome McDonalds, where Ronald was daily and you could have a sleep over. But even at the young age of five I knew Ronald McDonald House was doing something amazing for my family and best friend. Today I volunteer to honor my cousin and friend Stefanie.
